I absolutely love when I get contacted by retailers that I am unfamiliar with, either if they are just starting out or have been around for years and just happen to be on the other side of the world from me and not on my radar YET. Once they contact me I get the opportunity to fall in love, find new items and really discover what they are all about which is awesome! It gets even sweeter when they give me the opportunity to try their product and that gives me the opportunity to get the word out to you all too!

A few weeks back I was contacted by the lovely people behind Monroe and Main which has been around for a while and I was excited to see what they had to offer. While some of their items could be considered mature they do have a lot of really great pieces that could work for any fashionista be she in her 20′s to 40′s or whether she be plus or straight sized!  They allowed me to select some pieces that I was interested in and then they decided which item they wanted to send me for review and I think the selection tells that they really took sometime to look at my blog and consider what my style is, like I said before these sites are offering styles for women, no matter what there style or walk of life is and I LOVE IT!

Blazer: Torrid/Dress: Monroe & Main (Gifted)/Tights: Dress Barn/Wedges: Torrid

When I recieved the Tigress Stretch Poplin Dress from Monroe & Main I was completely excited. I loved a great animal print dress and honeslty this is the type of style I feel my best in. The print was large and nice in coloring and didn’t look cheesey at all which can be tricky with an animal print. I also really like the lining in the top portion of the dress that kept it feeling nice and silky. The dress itself is a nice thick stretch material that is really wrinkle resistant (perfect for me since I DONT IRON) and is a nice weight for Spring and Summer. Oh and did I mention this dress is machine washable too WIN! A lot of animal print dresses are sleeveless, super short, and a bit over the top which is great and all but I loved that this dress was an understated cut with a square neckline and short sleeves. The elastic at the A-line makes it fit great and hug the curves just right without being too super sexy and that makes it wearable in many ways as well.   The one problem I have with this dress is that I ordered it in a size 24 and its a little baggy in the bust and a smidge longer then I would like.  I ordered a size larger then the size charts told me to so it is honestly my fault but I will say that it was due to the very thin model they used. It made me second guess myself. In the future I might recommend since they carry their items in both straight and plus sizes that they have models both straight and plus sized as well.  That is more of a marketing critique really, but if you do order this dress just remember to follow the size charts and trust them, it will fit and look great!   Over all though I am absolutely smitten over this dress and have a feeling I will be wearing it a lot and will be shopping Monroe and Main in the future!

I wore this dress today to the office.  Its funny because yesterday I was taking about how I feel like a push the envelope a bit with my workwear. A lot of people would think that animal print especially to this excess wouldn’t be appropriate for an office job but the simple cut and loose fit of this dress makes it work just fine in my opininon. I did however play it down a little bit with some blacks like my thick tights and my Torrid Boyfriend Blazer. I didn’t want to take away all the fun though so for shoes I paired it with my mesh faux lace up black wedge booties and some dangly earrings gifted to me from Torrid.
